Dani Ceballos' contract with Real Madrid expires in four months. Vinicius Junior hopes the 26-year-old remains loyal to Los Blancos.

Dani Ceballos (26) has not played a role at Real Madrid for a long time. His farewell at the end of the season seemed set in stone. After good performances in the past few weeks, the midfielder is now looking forward to an extension to Concha Espina.

Ceballos' contract expires on June 30 this year, as do Luka Modric, Karim Benzema, Lucas Vazquez, Toni Kroos, Nacho Fernandez and Mariano Diaz. Vinicius hopes Ceballos will stay.

"Ceballos, stay!" the Brazil international posted under a photo of the two team-mates celebrating together. The South American garnished his request with two emojis.

Whether Ceballos extends remains to be seen. First of all, the sporty is in the foreground anyway. On Thursday evening, Spain's record champions in the Clasico will welcome arch-rivals FC Barcelona for the semi-final first leg of the Copa del Rey (9 p.m.) at their home Bernabeu.

In view of the recent defeats against Manchester United (second round Europa League) and LaLiga basement child Almeria, according to Xavi, Barça is going into the game as an outsider. "Real Madrid are the favourites, because they are the reigning champions and Champions League winners, a very difficult opponent in good form," said the Barça coach in a press briefing
